Seems like you have got too many things on your plate? I can definitely relate! As a freelance writer, social media manager, and volunteer teacher, it seems like there are so many things that I need to do and so little time to do them. In order to manage my time, I have used notepads, journals, and different mobile apps such as calendar, sticky notes, and to-do lists with alarms. Still, I have trouble in finishing my duties while still having time for my hobbies. Luckily, I have found a new app that can help me finish my daily tasks and achieve my goals: the LifeTracker!

LifeTracker is a mobile application that uses artificial intelligence algorithms to help the users manage their time and achieve their goals. It has been founded by Misha Nestor and Nik Gorylenko. With LifeTracker, achieving goals is simple—do the right things at the right place and the right time. The app gives its users advice on when to perform specific tasks. In the beginning, it uses preinstalled assumptions but as you use the app more often, it learns your from your activities and predicts your context better.

How does LifeTracker work?

  • Download the App – If you are using Android, you can download the app from Google Play Store. It’s free! Currently, it has more than 5,000 downloads and 4.2-star rating. If you are an Apple user, you can download the iOs Beta version of the app from LifeTracker’s official website.

  • Set up an Account – The app can automatically make an account for you using the saved email accounts on your smartphone. For example, LifeTracker used my Gmail to set up my account. If you do not have saved accounts on your smartphone, you can set up an account manually using your email address.

  • Change Password – LifeTracker will send the password of your account to your email address. If you cannot see it in your inbox, check your spam mail or promotions tab (for Gmail users). The alphanumeric password that they will send might be difficult for you to remember. In that case, you can change the password by following these steps: (1) click the menu button in the upper left-hand corner of the app; (2) select profile; (3) choose new password; (4) enter your new password and current password; and (5) save.

  • Choose Relevant Contexts – You can sort your tasks into 11 different contexts such as family, friends, work, shopping, and rest among others. You may choose more than one context for each task.

  • Create and Edit Tasks – After choosing a relevant context, just type the description to create a task. You can edit the details of the task by tapping it. The app automatically reminds you of the task during the best time of the day but you also have the option to select the time and day. You can mark the task as done after performing it. Remember that as you create and perform more tasks, it becomes easier for the app to give you advice.

What are the benefits of using LifeTracker?

  • Saves Time and Effort – Have you experienced taking so much time thinking about what you should do then end up doing nothing at all? That happens to me most of the time especially when I am stressed out with work. With LifeTracker, I don’t have to spend so much time and effort creating my daily schedule. The app already reminds me to perform the task at the most convenient time. Also, it helps me use my time more productively. Now I don’t waste so much time looking at photos on Facebook and Instagram.

  • Helps Achieve Goals – I have life goals that I seem to neglect because of more urgent tasks. For example, I want to create a children’s book. At the beginning of the year, I have decided to spend time on it each day. However, as the months pass by, I have rarely spent time on it. With the help of LifeTracker, I can now make sure that I spend at least an hour for it each day. The app reminds me to write parts of it every afternoon.

  • Saves Space – Previously, I have been using 4 different applications in managing my tasks for work, home, and hobbies. Now, I am just using one—the LifeTracker. It lessens the clutter on my phone’s home screen and also saves my phone’s memory space. No need to look through different apps to manage my tasks for the day. It is all-in-one!

  • Creates Work-life Balance – Lately, I have bought new books that I want to read. However, because of work, I rarely had time to read. LifeTracker helps me balance my time between work and hobbies. I can finish my tasks on time and still have time to read American Gods.

Overall, I am impressed with what the app can do. It has really helped me have a balanced life and achieve my goals step by step. I can now have time to do my work while achieving some of my personal goals such as writing a book and studying Spanish. I also have more time for my family and friends.

For improvement, I hope that the app would have a context for health-related tasks such as taking medicine and working out. I have several medications and sometimes, I forget to take some of them. A health context can help me be reminded of taking my medicine at the right time. I also suggest adding a context for religious activities such as going to church and reading the scriptures. This would be very helpful for me since I am a volunteer teacher for kids at church. In the future, hopefully, the developers can give the user the chance to add contexts based on their lifestyle. That will be awesome!

Whether long-term or short-term, achieving your life goals can be made easier by LifeTracker. LifeTracker is currently available as a free download in the Google Play Store. Users of Apple devices can sign up to test a beta version for iOS on the LifeTracker website.

Download the app now and start living a more balanced and successful life.
