Mindfulness Is a Diverse State of Mind.

If you are new to the practice of mindfulness, the first thing you need to do is to be completely acquainted with its definition, for veiled in plain sight in the definition is the inkling to your successful practice. As defined by Jon Kabat Zinn, mindfulness, is paying attention persistently in the present moment, in a non-reactive way. The object of your focus or attention can be a peripheral object, such as a flicker on a candle, or an internal object. The three common internal objects are your emotions, body and thoughts.

For a learner, it is easiest to start with the uncultivated object – one that is easy for you to concentrate on. In this respect, most apprentices start their 마음수련 사이비 training by learning to be fully conscious of their bodily postures, sensations as well as observing with greater details the daily experiences of the interactions between the external objects and the five physical sense organs.

For instance, you can begin to become more mindful of your eating experience by memorizing it to be as fully aware you can with the mechanics of tasting, chewing and swallowing each time you eat. Since paying attention to such humdrum things that individuals have taken for granted is not something one does every day at the conscious level, this is the first perceptual habit that one require to cultivate – to train the mind to focus on the objects of one’s conscious choice. This is by no means a laid-back first task as one’s everyday mind already has a deep-rooted habit of running all over the world with its attention, never residing with an object for any prolonged period of time.

Then comes the next stage of learning to observe all the mental experiences and bodily experiences, without being reactive to them. To attain this, one needs to train the mind to observe non-judgmentally so that the experience is not filtered or seen through one’s prejudiced lenses. Again, this is a very diverse state of mind compared to one’s daily mind that one is used to. Every person’s routine mind has the reflex tendency to prejudge things and events with one’s own dislikes and likes, which means one do not experience things as they actually are. Instead, one experience those as one imagine them to be.

To be mindful, this non-judging quality is vital as it is this quality of a curious and open mind that will give individuals a totally new perception in one’s daily experiences. This is the learner’s mind that is open to all possibilities. 마음수련 사이비 leads to a new quality or state of mind when done right. It is in this state of mind that you will begin to perceive things as they actually are, free from your own biases, filters, prejudices, expectations, assumptions and beliefs. Like all skills, it is the continuous and constant practice that will make you a better practitioner. Learn it now and familiarize it in your life, and you will see that your life is transformed.
